A Visit With Grandma Lola

This past week Lola came to stay with us! It was soooo much fun and we had some great adventures. Lola was determined to get Sophie moving around better...

And she did make strides in the 'walking with you' department. Now she will actually do it and likes it instead of just standing there and crying, which is what she used to do. Lola helped her discover that she can chase Bonnie around the room and she LOVES that!

On Wednesday we drove out to Yosemite and spent the day in the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoia trees. And yes- they were GIANT. It was beautiful! We had a great day and enjoyed seeing snow too! Looking at these pictures it's hard to believe that a sequoia tree seed is the size of a flake of oatmeal. The trees can live over 3000 years.

Although we played hard we worked just as hard, if not harder, on the yard and organizing the garage. My backyard was overgrown with weeds (I wish I had taken a before picture! We couldn't see bonnie if she was out there) We dug out all the weeds then put grass seed down. THEN we fixed the automatic sprinkler system... with a slight glitch that resulted in a geiser.

But the end result turned out great!

Overall we had a wonderful week filled with memories and we were very very sad to see Lola leave! Especially Sophie, since she had started to really enjoy having her own personal jester around 24/7. And bonnie will definately miss Lola too, since she started to really enjoy having someone who feeds her human food around 24/7. Things will probably be pretty boring around here now with just mom and dad to entertain. I have one more thing to post about Lola's trip... but it is a major event and requires a seperate post space! STAY TUNED!
LOLA WE MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU!

More Easter Pictures!

Well, just to clarify, Mom's luggage was delayed and so we did not have Sophie's Easter Dress or some of her Easter toys in her basket first thing in the morning. So here are some more pictures from that afternoon of her church dress and some of her new Easter toys!

Happy Easter!

Here are some pictures of Griff and Sophie at her very first Easter Egg hunt!

The Easter Bunny came to our house! Lola thought that all these baskets were for Sophie. No, she's not THAT spoiled, only one basket was hers!

She had so much fun gettting into her goodies! Really the only thing that she got were some empty eggs and some stuffed animals that she already had. (I know, we are bad parents). But I did get her some new fishy bath toys.

Her favorite was the box of jubjubes that she could shake but not eat. Well, I guess she did suck on the box for a while!

Over all we had fun and Sophie enjoyed opening her first Easter Basket! We are grateful for all our blessings that we enjoy, Griff's good job, our happy little girl, but most of all we are grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the gosple in our lives! Hope you all enjoy this Easter season and feel the meaning behind the season. We love and miss you all!

Ugly Mug!

Well, Griff got a haircut and I love it! I think he looks like Justin Timberlake...now. These are the BEFORE shots while he was shaving the beard. What a dork! Our favorite is the Hitler stash at the end.

Patty Cake!

Patty cake is one of Sophie's favorite games! She loves to clap and is forever looking at us and then clapping as an invitation to play some patty cake.

Swingin'

This is Sophie's second time on the swing and she LOVES it! Here's a quick clip- she was starting to get bored by the time I took this but you can get the picture. We love taking walks and going to the park, Sophie could spend all day everyday outside! I wonder if she would feel the same way in Canada? Oh by the way- just to clarify the music in our juke box is music I like... Griff will absolutely NOT claim any of those songs.... except Mat Kearney... okay and maybe the Disney one.....and Michael Buble is okay.... but definately NOT the country! :)

A Girl and her Daddy

This girl loves her Daddy! He is the master of tickles and funny faces - pretty much always good for a laugh. Sophie got Griff the Tshirt she is wearing for Chirstmas. She is getting so big for her carseat now! Talk about weight lifting. We are starting to wonder if getting the carseat that was good to 30 pounds was such a good idea! Below Daddy is putting PJ's on her after her bath.

TEETH!

This is the money shot! You have no idea how hard it is to take a picture of baby teeth... or maybe you do. We had to take this picture when she was sleeping. Soooo cute tiny teeth!

Goin' Places

Happy Baby

Sophie is such a happy baby and content almost all the time... That's why Griff and I were shocked to find out that she's got her two little bottom teeth almost threw. We kept thinking that she would get fussy when she was teething but I guess even teething doesn't stop this ray of sunshine! PS- Sorry about the video below not working, we are trying to figure it out!

Tasty Toes!

Our Little Monkey is getting a taste for her feet! It is so cute, everytime we try to change her diaper she wants to snack on some toe jam.
