Glam Girl

Notice the bulging diaper? We had just finished playing in the sprinkler. What I didn't take a picture of was a few minutes later when the diaper exploded getting that gross jelly stuff ALL over my house. I was in the middle of nursing Mia, the middle of cooking dinner, and in the middle of cleaning up a bazillion toys when that happened. Oh, and we were expecting company for dinner to arrive... immanently of course. I can't imagine what it's like to walk through a door to a screaming hungry baby, a toddler dressed like a Victoria Secret model (imagine above picture, now minus diaper), a half cooked meal, a messy house, and used diaper gunk all over the floor.
Come on in guys!

Here are just some random pics I've been meaning to post. This was from Manda's visit. I miss you:( !

Rainforest Cafe
Dress Shopping!!!

A local baseball game
Mia now fitting in the bumbo.
Apparently Sophie still fits too.
Jumpin.
Me and my girls! Although life is... less than glamorous, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm just an adrenaline junkie.

It's Official.

We can now REALLY say we are entering the terrible twos! Thanks to all our doting family who spoiled this little girl! Due to all her arriving presents and her visit with Auntie Manda, we didn't have a birth day... we had a birth two weeks.
Yes, it was thrilling. Here Sophs' is in her 'new dress' (one of the few phases she can say... this child was BORN girl, she loves new dresses). Thank you Grandpa Rob and Grandma Dodie!
For the party this year, we had a picnic! Animal themed... I guess. We really just liked the hat. And no, she has not suddenly developed a soother problem, it's a ring pop. (Thanks Auntie Manda! - you can see it on her finger below. Seriously messy, her hair was crusted to her throat from tons and tons of sticky drool. But she smelled like she was wearing strawberry perfume).

Opening Presents!
We enjoyed one of her favorite meals... hot dogs!

Cake! Auntie decorated the lion and I did the bottom one. It's a giraffe.... it got smooshed Okay!

Mia is putting up with her older sister amazingly well. And will give us the occasional belly laugh now! Let me correct that statement... will give her daddy the occasional belly laugh. He is pretty goofy. Everybody dance now.

Move Over Rachel Ray......

There's a New Sheriff in TOWN!
(If by town you mean the kitchen and by sheriff you mean someone who is super multi-talented and has mad cooking skills - then YES, the above statement is TRUE).

I don't know if the moons of Jupiter were aligned yesterday or if a certain place did freeze over, but I got the BUG.
No, I'm not ill. No, it wasn't the wife complaining that I never do anything. I got the cooking BUG and man was I on FIRE. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but TOOT!!!

1) There's ALWAYS room for JELL-O!

2) I must've been on a Jell-o high cause my kitchen domination didn't stop there. Next I decided to help someone who can't help themselves - I hooked up my dog by creating these Awesomely delicious dog treats - no, I didn't try one but everything I touch turns Golden (Brown)!!!

3) I then BOILED some WATER to the PERFECT TEMPERATURE and hard boiled some eggs. Once again - I could do no wrong. I had pulled off "The Tri-fecta" as they say in the cooking world.

BUT THEN.....

The next day I was heating up some hard boiled eggs in the microwave.... AND.....

I had lost the gift, the magic touch. My skills had returned back to normal.
Oh well, in the words of the famous poet MEATLOAF - "2 outta 3 ain't bad!"
A dozen eggs - $1.79
A microwave - $100.00
Me cleaning up the mess ...

..... PRICELESS!!!!

A lotta tongue.

Auntie Manda has been here visiting us this past week and we've been busy having fun! To celebrate her visit and Sophie's second birthday we went to 6 flags Discovery Kingdom. It was an awesome day and the best part was watching Sophie feed the giraffes! We were the second in line for that and the last to leave... and she still cried when the giraffes were "full" and we had to go. (oh by the way, please don't look too closely at the picture above with griff standing in front of all three giraffes).

Sophie and Aunt Manda at the Elephant show. The trainer fed the elephant bananas and Sophie kept screaming "NANA!" She was cheering more for the banana's than the elephant.

Riding some rides!

Sacked out after a long day! Notice her little sunburnt cheeks!

Mia had fun too.... surprising since she only saw the inside of this blanket.

The best part of a CA trip! A pit stop at In and Out!

Am I Seeing DOUBLE???????

This week some friends of ours were moving and they gave Sophie some TOYS they no longer used. It was like an early birthday present for her - THANKS!! (now I don't have to buy her anything - HA HA).

Giant TIGER

Dora couch

Daddy and Sophie have been eating like a million Freezies (Otter pops to our American friends) to stay cool. Can you guess our favorite color??

Funny story - Sunday morning I got up early (ok - early for me) and decided to help get Sophie dressed. I was struggling putting on her dress, I had managed to put her head and one arm through when Jess came into the room and informed me that I was putting Mia's dress on Sophie. I then realized why it did not fit. In my defence - I did quickly look at the tag and saw 3, I failed to notice the word MONTHS after - I just ASSUMED it was years. Jess saved the day, we made it to church and all was well .... except for the fact that she keeps on bugging me about what I did. To that I say - "Have fun getting both girls ready for church on Sundays!"
(This isn't really a threat because that's what she's been doing since Mia was born). To the father's out there - moral of the story - helping out just gets you in bigger trouble - stay in bed and enjoy the few extra minutes of sleep!!!
