I'm trying to be like... Janet Jackson?

Sophie came into our room monday morning sporting a new style.

How the heck?
In other news Mia has offically out grown the baby baby stroller. At her 2 month appointement she weighed in at 11 pounds 6 ounces. (56th %tile) and she is 24 inches long (95th %tile).
Nothing else is new. We are just trying to keep up with everything! Last week Griff came home from work and I hadn't changed Sophie's diaper since that morning. (I know I know, call CPS). My floors are filthy, my laundry backed up, I've got dishes in the sink, and nothing in mind for dinner. How do women have 5, 6... 12 children?! I can't keep up to 2. Am I really that undomesticated? I can barely match the socks and Martha Stewart is out there harvesting her own honey from bee hives in her backyard. Why did God make playing so much more fun than cleaning?

We're Taking Bets

That Mia will be talking in sentences before Sophie.

For FHE we headed to a local spray park to cool off. Mia came too - but stayed covered up on my lap. We knew she looked cute though, and had to take a picture to prove it:

For our treat Daddy popped some popcorn (mommy and Sophie's fav. - she can seriously eat this whole bowl... Sophie not mommy... well, mommy too.)

And Mia turned 2 months!

Feel the Sisterly Love

I've enjoyed a wonderful Mother's day! Here are my two beautiful girls!!! I feel so blessed to have them in my life.

I really did enjoy this mother's day. It reminded me to ponder on the beautiful moments that I have everyday with my two angels. Like the moment pictured below.

I also couldn't help but think about the not so beautiful moments. The moments where I wonder what kind of a job I'm actually doing of raising these "angels". Take the moment below for example.

Sophie kicking an unsuspecting Mia in the face.

Today also made me grateful for a wonderful husband who appreciates me and helps me see the humor in said moments.... (even when Mia cannot).

That loving husband made me a giant card with a poem about diapers.

Stinky diapers, sometimes 3, 2, or 1
It'll be quite sometime before there are none.
And maybe that day you'll be used to the trend,
You'll stop changing the girls, and change MY depend(s).
So here's a little something that will hopefully help out. {scented candles!! my fav.}
And we wanted to let you know that in our minds there's no doubt
That you're the world's best mother (and wife).

And I'd like to thank all the mother's in my life for their love, support and assistance in molding me into a better person.
Dodie: A wonderful caretaker with a kind gentle heart that would turn no one away. She is always thoughtful of the people around her and so hardworking!
Jan: The most charitable person I know. I have yet to hear her speak one ill word of anyone... and I know I never will. You are an inspiration to me of faith and humble obedience.
And lastly my wonderful mom Sally: The strongest person I know. I love you so much and am so grateful for your persevering and hardworking spirit. Thank you for encouraging the best from me and always being an example of generosity and stewardship. I want to be just like you. Mom, you're the best.
I think Sophie is already trying to stop Mia from tattling on her.
And for a last mother's day treat, I'm providing a link to a long lost favorite photo from the Calgary Sun. Not for the man in the photo... but for the faces of all the people behind him.
Happy Mother's Day Everyone!

I love coo

Happy anniversary to us! Last week we celebrated our 7th. We just kept saying how we feel old. Jeepers... how will we feel when it's our 25th?? Griff brought me home these beautiful roses and chocolate:) Sophie and Mia and I made him a candy-gram. Lots has changed in seven years... food and sleep are now the highlights of our lives instead of travel and adventures. But we still find ways to keep it fresh and I can say after all these years I still laugh at Griff's jokes! - Except when they're directed at me. Last week at the temple he made a hilarious little comment about my shoes and I had control my impulse to break his nose. (It's just not as funny when you are living the horrible moment... I can laugh now.) I guess that's what marriage is all about. One month it's all roses and chocolates and the next month your contemplating breaking bones. Hmmmm, actually I guess it's day to day with us.

Anyways, I feel blessed to have such a wonderful and understanding husband. He's very unselfish and makes me laugh everyday. And not to mention he's a total hunk! Do people still say that? I guess I am a little outdated, I have been married for seven years!

Mia has reached my favorite baby stage! She's just starting to coo! We finally got some shots of her smiling. (She's a stingy smiler.) Isn't she getting fat?! I LOVE it! Babies are meant to be squishy.

Mia is definitely the princess of the house. She never wants to be away from the action for one second. Which basically translates into: she never lets us put her down.

Ah well, we just can't resist her!
