One of the next things on our list was the Baker Family Reunion Part Duex held in Edmonton. What an excellent time we had visiting with family, playing games, laughing, watching the crazy kitten and oh yes.... eating, eating, and more eating! (Always my favorite part of any vacation!). Griff and Sophie and I actually won a prize for our magic act we preformed at the family talent show! What?! You did not know that we were magical?! Well well well, you are in for a treat.... or at least you would have been if my camera batteries hadn't died before we had a chance to capture the moment. I can't really vouch for our act, but our costumes were freaking awesome. ANyways, here are some pics of the family baseball game!
While in Edmonton we just HAD to stop at the famous West Edmonton Mall and take Sophie on her first Water slide! Aunt Manda came with us and we all had a hoot!
This is a shot of the new kids play area that is SOOOOOO fun.... we adults had a blast playing in there so I'm not sure why it's called the kid play area. The large bucket at the top fills with water every 15 minutes or so and then dumps down like so...
Sophie actually got caught under the tidal wave a couple of times which she really didn't appreciate. Speaking of things she didn't appreciate here are some shots we took of her playing with daddy in the wave pool.
Okay, having fun...
Oops... yeah, cried for like 5 minutes after that one.
Well it wouldn't be a complete trip home without some good quality Waterton time! Steve cooked for us a few times with the dutch oven and it was magnificent!!! I also got to enjoy a horseback ride up to twin lakes and even tried fly fishing for the first time! (I caught 5 fish too! Must be a natural. I'm sure it was based entirely on my amazing fishing skills and not the fact that the fish we practically jumping onto the shore). Griff and I went for a long ride in the Kayaks which was breathtaking and even Sophie got to go for her first Kayak ride! We all enjoyed watching Manda fall in the water while attempting to get out of her Kayak. Ha ha ha. Then of course I made her help me dock my Kayak so I wouldn't do the exact same thing.
My Horse named Tiny. Liked to follow the leader.... apparently I wasn't the leader. Still we bonded.
Daddy and Sophie throwing rocks into the lake. She's really progressed, she doesn't eat them half as often.
Sophie and my cousin Garret. Neither of them liked this arrangement very much!
While Sophie was in Canada she met her BFF (best friend for now). No, it wasn't any of her cousins.... (maybe next year) it was Winnie the dog. Poor Bonnie was put to shame by this lovable lab that had Sophie in hysterics for a full half hour. They were so funny to watch together, I wish I could have gotten it on video! Sophie did make lots of other friends though! Here she is at the Calgary Zoo with her two other girl cousins almost the same age! So cute girls!
Ella, Sophie and Eden
And here she is with Eden at the Spray park. Eden just kept wanting to hold Sophie's had, but Sophie was having none of that. They were sooooo cute together! It will be so fun watching them grow up together!
And here is Sophie with her betrothed Jonas on their play date... emphasis on the Date part. We didn't really see any sparks flying yet, we'll just have to give them 20 years or so.
And what family vacation would be complete without a good ol' round of paintball? None, that's what. I was sad that I had to miss out on this adventure, but then when I saw Griff's pokadot bruises.... I guess I wasn't that sad! Ouch.
And one more shot of Sophie at the Lethbridge Spray park, which is AWESOME and Sophie LOVED!
Sophie asked me tell you all about her favorite parts of the trip and this is what she showed me.
Apparently our daughter likes ice cream and ate A LOT of it on our holiday. Well, we had a wonderful time on our trip and would just like to thank all the family and friends that gave us room and board and let Sophie eat them out of house and home! The best part of our holiday was just being able to hang out with our family! We love and miss you all! See you soon!

Oh dear it looks like you had a wonderful time! I'm thrilled we got to hang out! It's seriously been way too long! Anyway we'll chat later! Miss you already
What a fun trip. I wish we could have played more. I am afraid Sophie will forget her pretend auntie. I must make a trip soon to see you guys. PS Grayson's sister conveniently chose American Thanksgiving to get married so we will be here instead of with you for Thanksgiving. What a crock of turkey. I told them we might not be at the wedding because I already had plans with you. Baha. Miss you like the ham misses sandwich.
I miss you guys
It looks like you had a fabulous trip. I LOVE water parks and wish I could have gone to that one. I do feel bad for Griff with all the bruises from the paintball. I'm sure he healed quickly. I hope you have an amazing time at DisneyWorld. I can't wait to see all the pictures! Have fun!
