Well, Happy Valentines Day everyone! And a big thank you to all who entered our contest! (Just so you know you can still enter until tomorrow night). Griff was actually shocked and amazed that we had so many entries.... who knew people actually read this stuff? Anyways, thought I'd share my valentines surprise with you all. I wasn't expecting anything since Valentines is a quote "made up holiday just to get people to spend money on dumb stuff" unquote. Sooooo, imagine my surprise when as I'm putting Sophie to bed last night, the doorbell rings. By the time I get out to the door, Griff has already said goodbye to whoever was there. I asked who it was and just got a sheepish, "nobody". Since I'm very intuitive, I guessed that there was something more to it than that and started searching for the treats that I was thinking "nobody" dropped off at our house for us. (People in our ward give treats out for all the holidays - it's so awesome!!!) I stumbled on this in our fridge:
Griff ordered me a Valentines Cake from the Young Women! How sweet! Now let me sum up how the phone conversation went between Griff and the young woman:
YW- "Brother Price, would you like to buy a Valentines Cake for your wife? We are doing them for a fundraiser."
Griff- "Sure, my beautiful, talented, sweet, wonderful ****(I'm sure he went on for quite a while here, I'll cut it out so as to not bore you) wife really deserves a cake."
YW- "We write a message on the cake, what would you like yours to say?"
Griff- "Hmmmm, something romantic."
Long Pause.
YW- "Soooo, do you really want it to say that?"
Griff- "yup, say something romantic."
Shucks. What a lucky girl I am. The cake actually moved me to tears.
Of laughter.
So here's hoping you all have as good a Valentines as we did, and celebrate what the day is actually all about. Eating!
